Technical Expert - Transport
Rick is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of The Institution of Engineers Australia. He has over 25 years’ experience across a wide range of transport infrastructure projects including managing, planning, design and procurement of projects including rail, roads and highways, drainage, urban development. He has previously held technical leadership roles at global engineering firms Meinhardt Group, Arup and WSP.
Rick has extensive experience in technical advisory services including investigation reporting, feasibility analyses, due diligence, business cases, risk identification and expert witnessing. He has also led diverse multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from tender to detailed design to construction phase services.
Rick is committed to promoting technical expertise and mentoring in design, and advocating for Regenerative Civil Design techniques. This movement away from colonial design methods supports society’s adaptation to climate change, reducing heat island effect, reducing runoff and regenerating landscape in the Australian context.
