Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment
For Development Victoria
Our story
This is a highly technical, complex site atop a 50 m high cliff, eroding coastline with karst formations, and underground caves and aquifers. The design included new trails and lookouts, carparks and a cutting edge Visitor Experience Centre set within a Regenerative Design framework and net negative carbon emissions.
David Worsley led a multidisciplinary engineering team as Project Engineering Lead, working with architects Grimshaw and ASPECT Studios, during both the masterplan development and early design development.
During masterplanning David completed desktop and site-based SWOT analysis of existing conditions including flood levels, stormwater drainage connections and usages, site levels, and ground conditions. He developed stormwater management strategies suited to the rural environment particularly nature-based bioswales and retention of site runoff to minimise change from pre-development conditions.
